  • New Tour for 2024

15 days - Escorted hiking tour covering Norway's best and most scenic hikes. One departure only.

Join 50 Degrees North’s owner on a 2-week hiking extravaganza in Norway. We will do some of Norway’s best and most scenic hikes. Not necessarily those you have heard or read about, but those local ones that will give you lofty views and an amazing experience.

This is a strenuous tour only for those who enjoy heights and steep climbs, but no technical experience is needed. The tour is escorted by 50 Degrees North’s owner, while local hikes are guided by a local and trained mountaineering guide.

Accommodation is boutique, nice and comfortable, giving you ample opportunity to rest and pamper yourself after completing each of the hikes.

If some hikes appear too strenuous for your liking you may still join the tour, and we will then offer alternative activities you can undertake on an independent basis.

This arguably one of Norway’s most scenic and dramatic walk that can be done without technical experience. The track starts steeply upwards towards the razorback (egg) and then follows a very dramatic and lofty razorback all the way back to Åndalsnes. If you are afraid of heights this is not for you. Where the razorback is at its most narrow you will hold onto chains and ropes bolted to the rocks. The reward it breathtaking views over the surrounding mountains, fjord and villages.

The last section is a fjord cruise from Gudvangen to Aurland taking in the narrow Nærøy- and Aurlandfjord.

Important Information

This itinerary is designed as an adventurous hiking trip with some fairly strenuous hikes. If you are not up for the most strenuous hikes you can still join and do independent local walks or alternative hikes in the areas.

The itinerary is designed without expensive transfers from train station to hotel, etc. This means it is expected that you can carry all your own gear for distances up to 1.5km. We recommend packing in a backpack. It is essential that you also bring an additional 25-35L day pack for the day hikes, as you are expected to carry warm clothes, water, snacks, and packed lunch for many of the hikes.

Minimum age for this hike is 16 years old.
