Meeting the Sámi, the indigenous people of the Nordic region
The Sámi are the only indigenous people of the European Union, with communities across northern Norway, Sweden and Finland. Meeting them, and learning about a culture that is contemporary rather than frozen in the past, offers a way of understanding the north that landscape alone cannot.
