Historic Vilnius

The Curonian Spit
This UNESCO-listed sand-dune peninsula is one of the more unusual landscapes in the Baltic: a thin spine of shifting dunes and pine forest between lagoon and open sea, dotted with old fishing villages. It is the kind of place that stays with people.
