Discover Salla, a charming little village in Eastern Lapland, a two-hour drive away through the autumn coloured forests and wilderness. This itinerary includes a stay in a wilderness lodge with glass panoramic windows designed to see the Northern Lights and autumn activities to fill your days.
Watch for the Northern Lights, meet the reindeers, hike in nature and canoe out onto the lakes on this 5-day itinerary. This tour is perfect for families and couples looking for a unique Lapland wilderness experience.

Private transfer from Rovaniemi airport to your Wilderness Lodge accommodation in Salla, a two hour drive away. With it's ridge-top location and panoramic windows, you have a good chance of watching the catching the Northern Lights as well as breath-taking views over a autumn landscape.
The panoramic windows of the Salla Wilderness Lodges open a dialogue between you and the old pine trees outside, while the Sallatunturi fells gently whisper in the background. Enjoy a sauna and hot tub, kitchenette (supplies not included) and bathroom in your accommodation.

Meet the reindeer today during a special Kössi reindeer experience with a guided tour.
You will have a chance to see reindeer up close. The reindeer Park is a 200 hectare area and it is part of Kaunisharju natural forest. Inside the park at a special feeding place, call the reindeer and feed them.
After the reindeer are done eating, gather in a Kota or Laavu (small Lappish huts) and enjoy coffee or tea with local bun. The local guides will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about the reindeer. Then you can wander around the Park on your own, with the help of map you will get from the guide before returning to your lodge for dinner and perhaps an optional wellness experience.
A guided nature hike to Pirttivaara (2 - 3 hours). From top of the fell opens a beautiful view over Salla National Park. The guide will have some small snack for you while you enjoy the view from the top.
This walk is at a leisurely pace so that you have all your time to enjoy the silence and relax.
This evening, join a guided canoe trip (2 person Canadian canoe) to a wilderness lake (2-3 hours). Hangasjärvi lake is a nice and easy place to paddle and you will have plenty of time to enjoy nature and silence in the middle of nowhere, with chances of seeing the "double Northern Lights" i.e. the Northern Lights up on the sky reflected on the still waters of the lake. (In late autumn if the lake is frozen, the canoe trip will be changed to a northern lights experience by car)

All prices listed are per person, based on two adults sharing a double room. Triple family share based on child between 4 years and 13 years old. Triple share is a 120cm extra bed in the alcove, best suited for 1 child but can sleep 2 small children.
