Colourful volcanic region in Southern Iceland, popular with hikers.
Landmannalaugar is the colourful volcanic region several hours south of Reykjavik and the hiking hub of Iceland. The area displays a number of unusual geological elements with rocks displaying a wide spectrum of colors including pink, brown, green, yellow, blue, purple and black. It is the start of the famous Landmannalaugar hike, renown for the geothermal displays and hot springs.
