North Cape
The North Cape or Nordkapp is the northernmost point of mainland Europe.
The North Cape, as its name suggests, is the northernmost point of mainland Europe and a magnet for visitors from Europe and afar. The main drawcard is visiting the North Cape plateau at midnight in summer to experience the eternity of the midnight sun, as it comes down to touch the horizon before it again starts its rise. A great escape from the crowds at the North Cape plateau is doing a 9 kilometre midnight hike (approx 4 hours return) to Knivskjellodden, which is actually 1500 metres further north than the plateau.
There is an Information Exhibition hall as you arrive to the North cape plus a bar and cafe. Honningsvåg is the closest town to the North Cape.
Don’t miss an excursion to the North Cape plateau above the Arctic Circle to witness the sun that never sets.
