When is the best time to visit Norway?

Norway is genuinely four different countries across the year, and the season shapes the trip more than the region does.

Summer brings the midnight sun, long hiking days and fjords at their most open. Autumn quietens: crisp air, changing colour and villages that have their pace back. Winter turns the north dark enough for the northern lights, with snow-covered scenery and the slower rhythms of the Arctic. Spring is the in-between season travellers often overlook, when the waterfalls run at their most powerful and the fjords come back to life.
