Small Group Journeys
Our small group tours through Scandinavia and the Nordic region are designed for travellers who want to experience these landscapes in a more considered way. Groups are capped at 18, which changes the quality of what is possible: access to smaller, character-filled accommodation, guiding that feels like a conversation, and an itinerary that can breathe rather than rush.
A dedicated 50 Degrees North tour leader travels with you from the first day to the last, supported by local guides with genuine knowledge of each region. Most meals and all transport between destinations are included, across a range of modes that suit the landscape, by private mini-coach through Norway's mountain passes, coastal ferry along the western fjords, and express rail between the Nordic capitals. The journey itself is meant to be experienced rather than managed.
Our small group tours run throughout the year across Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Iceland. From the long daylight of a Nordic summer and the copper tones of autumn in the fjords, to Northern Lights journeys above the Arctic Circle and the quiet of a Lapland winter, each season offers its own version of this part of the world. Accommodation is handpicked at every stage, from boutique fjord hotels and fishing village cabins to glass-roofed aurora lodges and the original ICEHOTEL in Swedish Lapland.
50 Degrees North has teams based in Øyer in Norway, Minneapolis, Vancouver, and Melbourne. The itineraries are built by people who know these places closely, and who have spent years developing the local partnerships that make this kind of travel possible.
