Located close to Bergen between the Hardangerfjord and the Sognefjord, Voss is a great spot to be based if exploring the fjord region. It is also one of the town linked by the 'Norway in the Nutshell' tour. A small town sitting on a fjord, it has the historic hotel, Fleischer's Hotel, at the fjord's edge.
It is well known as the extreme sports capital with Ekstremsportveko, the largest sport and music festival of its kind, and is hosted every year in Voss, Western Norway. If you are a prefer something calmer, stroll around town and visit Vangskyrkja, a medieval stone church from 1277. Or experience Mølstertunet, a beautiful farmstead overlooking the town and Lake Vangsvatnet. Explore the villages in the Voss surroundings or try out a traditional style lamb meat called “Smalahove”.
It is easy to get to Voss by train, bus and car from gateways with international arrivals, such as Bergen and Oslo. The town is centrally located in South-western Norway and "the heart of Fjord Norway", between the famous fjords of Sognefjorden and Hardangerfjorden.
