Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrive Stockholm and transfer to your hotel
Arrive and transfer to your central hotel. Sweden's capital is charming, vibrant and surrounded by beauty and water - hence its nickname, Venice of the North! Stockholm offers interesting museums and castles; the city offers a warm atmosphere and the old town has charming small alleyways boasting several famous restaurants. On arrival, you will be met by a local guide who will spend an hour with you briefing you on the local area and what you can do.
On one of your afternoons here, be sure to make time for a visit to the ABBA museum with great interactive exhibits - a glass of champagne (for Dutch courage to get on stage & the pure fun of it) to accompany your tour is recommended! On the other hand, take the serious option & visit the Nobel Prize museum in the Old town.
Looking for dinner options - try 'Bastard Burgers' or one of our favourite meatball restaurants. Super kid friendly! What next - what about a haunted house tour in the Old Town?

Day 2 - Kayaking city tour of central Stockholm with guide
After breakfast, head to the kayak dock, located right in the heart of the city. All the kayak guides are local, qualified and experienced, so they take time to run through some basic paddling techniques and safety information with you before you set off on your adventure. The private kayaking tours have an easy tempo to suit all abilities; many persons who paddle have no previous experience, and the techniques are easy to learn.
Enjoy a leisurely sightseeing paddle that allows you a fabulous vantage point as you look in on the city from your kayak. Feel the pulse of the city from a very different perspective! Throughout the tour, your guide regales you with stories and offers insights into local customs, history, culture, and lifestyle.
Around lunchtime, finish this tour and then enjoy your 24-hour Stockholm card to explore the city further. If you are travelling in winter, we can alternate this tour with an iceskating tour on the rivers. We also suggest adding a wildlife safari to see Elk if this might suit your family (depending on the ages of your children).

Day 3 - Candy Cane Making and local experiences
At your leisure, explore Stockholm. The trendy and bohemian area of the city, Södermalm, offers small wooden houses from the 1700s, fantastic views of the city, fashion, design and great local bars. Then explore Gamla Stan or Old Town as we would say in English, is where everything once began. With its narrow alleyways and cobblestone streets, this island is home to the Royal Palace. As you explore the old town, you will join a CANDY CANE MAKING class - an hour of sweet bliss! Leave with your newly made finger licking good sweets and head to the centre of Stockholm.
The city centre of Stockholm is known as Norrmalm. It is the focal point of modern Stockholm with great shopping opportunities and a backdrop of the City Hall, the venue for the Nobel Prize Banquet. If you are travelling in winter, see the Christmas markets and try iceskating in the central square with the local children. Next visit Östermalm, the city’s most fashionable neighborhood with stately apartment buildings, fantastic architecture and scenic walkways.
Finally, visit Djurgården, known as the outdoor recreation centre for the city locals as well as home to many of the city’s museums, the Vasa Museum, the Open Air Museum of Skansen and the latest addition, ABBA the Museum. The Vasa ship was built between 1625 and 1628 as the pride and joy of the Swedish navy. As she embarked on her maiden voyage she fired a big salute, sailed for 20 minutes and then went straight to the bottom of the sea. Today the Vasa ship lies before us 98 % intact.
Need to entertain teenagers or get some fresh air, experience the thrill of parkour, a sport typically confined to city streets and public areas, in the lush forests of the southern Stockholm suburb of Tullinge. Lida Friluftsgård has constructed a special parkour track and embedded it in its green surroundings. The park is open seven days a week, all year round, and is (like all other green areas in Sweden) free to visit.
