    Next, transfer to the Aurora Village, a favorite among our travelers. Spend three nights in a secluded aurora cabin, gazing up at the Arctic sky and, with luck, witnessing the Northern Lights dance above you.

    Transportation

    Transfers between Rovaniemi (airport or city) to Pyhätunturi, and Pyhätunturi to Ivalo.

    Itinerary

    Day 1 - Arrive Rovaniemi, transfer to Pyhä and settle into your accommodation

    Arrive at Rovaniemi Airport and meet your driver for a shared transfer to Pyhä (approx. 1.5 hours). Upon arrival, check into your accommodation and settle into the peaceful fell landscape of Finnish Lapland.

    The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax, explore the snowy surroundings, or enjoy the facilities at the resort.

    Day 2 - Snowmobile eSled Nature Safari

    The Nature Safari is an easy and friendly snowmobile trip to enchanting winter scenery. The pace of the safari is relaxed and calm, and travel along easy-to-navigate routes. You will be taken to nearby forests and fells silently and without any gasoline odour. There will be time for photographs, enjoying the views and a break with warm drinks. Enjoy quiet and emission-free sledding with new electric sleds, which enable peaceful hiking in the midst of Lapland's snowy fell landscapes.

    Day 3 - Amethyst Mine & Traditional Lappish Sauna

    This morning, immerse yourself in a hands-on experience as you dig for your very own amethyst treasure. As long as it fits snugly within your palm, it's yours to cherish forever. Continue your adventure with a visit to the mine's stone shop, offering an array of precious stone creations, raw and polished gems, and custom amethyst jewellery.

    Later, unwind with a traditional Lappish sauna experience at Sunday Morning Resort. Located on the shores of Lake Pyhäjärvi, the sauna offers the perfect setting to relax after an active day outdoors.

    Day 4 - Transfer to Aurora Village

    This morning, sit back and enjoy the ride through stunning white scenery. This transfer to Inari will take approximately 3 hours, depending on the weather.

    Upon arrival at Aurora Village, you will receive your program schedule before dinner. Depending on your arrival time, cold weather gear is given to you either upon arrival or the next day.

    Your glass igloo hosts here were the first accommodation in Northern Lapland to receive the Green Key award, the leading standard for excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism industry. This prestigious eco-label represents a commitment by businesses that their premises adhere to the strict criteria set by the Foundation for Environmental Education. Some examples of how they carry this out include offering recycling facilities in all cabins and no longer offering plastic bottles in accommodations, along with protecting the diversity of the surrounding nature, i.e., bird house and insect hotels. Hiking, biking, and skiing tracks are direct from the hotel and as such they encourage low carbon activities such as snowshoeing and toboggans.

    Day 5 - Husky safari and Northern Lights chase

    Today you enjoy a 3 hour husky safari through the snowy wilderness of Lapland. After receiving instructions from a professional musher, ride in pairs and take turns mushing the sleds through pristine winter scenery.

    In the evening, join an exciting Northern lights search by car. After some research on the weather forecast, with a professional Aurora Hunter, you will drive it to places where the sky is most clear and the probability of seeing the Northern Lights is highest.

    Day 6 - Reindeer sleigh ride and farm visit

    Enjoy a traditional reindeer sleigh ride combined with a visit to a local reindeer farm. Learn about Sámi culture and reindeer herding while gliding peacefully through the Arctic landscape.

    You will also have the opportunity to feed and photograph the reindeer during your visit.

    This destination is located close to the Pyhätunturi ski resort. It is possible to include alpine skiing in your stay. We recommend arranging ski rental and tickets while in Pyhä area with the lodge staff.
