    Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive Kittilä and transfer to Nivunki Village with shaman ceremonial welcome

Arrive Kittilä and group transfer (approx. 45 mins) to Nivunki Village, located north of the Arctic Circle.

Nivunki Village is located in the middle of Finnish Lapland and is home to this new resort. Sit back and enjoy the open fire in the lobby on your arrival or relax in your private glass igloo. Each igloo has square footage: 30 m2, a double bed, bathroom with shower, bathrobes, minibar, coffee & tea maker and free wi-fi.

Depending on the schedule, start your adventure with a Lappish ceremony, in which you ask for a blessing and protection. For ages the sprites and elves have lived in the fells, forests and waters and helped the honest people of Lapland survive the harsh arctic conditions.

Anu Aikia is an original Lappish woman, healer and storyteller. We will meet Anu by the fire to hear compelling stories and tales of old Lapland and receive a blessing from the good sprites of Lapland.

Dinner at the hotel's restaurant tonight.

Halfway through the safari, stop at a Lappish hut (kota), for a traditional snack and hot drinks. During the break you will learn more about the Arctic huskies.

As your husky safari comes to an end, you'll return to the husky farm with a newfound appreciation for the incredible bond between humans and dogs.

As you glide through the winter landscape, where the silence of the wilderness is only broken by the soft thudding of reindeer hooves, you'll find a sense of connection to the land and its ancient traditions. Along the way, your knowledgeable guide will share with you stories of locals and their deep relationship with reindeer, the importance of reindeer herding and the role these majestic animals play in sustaining livelihoods in the Arctic.
