Cabins on Hurtigruten and Havila
Both Hurtigruten and Havila offer a wide range of cabins across their fleets, varying in size, position and outlook. As a general rule, outside cabins on the higher decks have a picture window, while those on the lower decks have portholes. The two operators use different cabin categories, so we've set them out separately below. Whichever you sail with, we're happy to talk through the options and find the right cabin for your voyage. Cabins on Hurtigruten
Hurtigruten's ships carry a range of cabins, from simple inside cabins to spacious suites. Many brochures quote the entry-level N-class cabin as standard. These are around 7–13 m² and often won't comfortably fit two large suitcases, so on longer voyages we usually suggest upgrading to a P-class or U-class cabin for a little more room. Inside cabins with no window are the most affordable option and perfectly comfortable for shorter trips. At the other end, suites offer a double bed, a seating area and more space to spread out.
One tip worth knowing: think about which side of the ship you'd prefer. Remember 'SNPS', starboard north, port south, so the land-facing side changes depending on your direction of travel.

Expedition Suites
MX Suite (43–45 m²): two rooms, seating and dining table, private balcony.
MG Suite (35–37 m²): one or two rooms, seating area, some with bath, most with private balcony or bay window.
M Suite (28–30 m²): one or two rooms, seating area, TV, minibar, some with private balcony.
Q Mini Suite (16 m²): seating area, minibar, TV, most with a double bed.
Arctic Superior
U Outside Cabin (8–13 m²): separate beds, one can convert to a sofa, table. Upper decks.
P Outside Cabin (8–13 m²): separate beds, one can convert to a sofa. Upper and middle decks.
Polar Outside
N Outside Cabin (7–13 m²): separate beds, one can convert to a sofa, some with upper/lower berths. Middle and lower decks.
Polar Inside
I Inside Cabin (6–10 m²): separate beds, one can convert to a sofa, some with upper/lower berths.

Cabins on Havila
Havila's four ships are the newest on the coastal route, and cabins were designed with space and comfort in mind, in a Nordic style that reflects the landscape outside. Cabins and suites range from 8 m² to 48 m², some categories sleeping up to four, and all include WiFi and USB ports. Most cabins have sea views, while a smaller number of interior cabins offer a budget-friendly choice for shorter voyages.
Seaview Superior
Seaview Superior Double (SSD), Twin (SST) and King (SSK) cabins (15–16 m²) each have a large picture window framing the coast, with a wardrobe, desk and separate bathroom with shower. Most sleep two, and some accommodate up to four. Aft View Superior (SAV, 15 m²) cabins look straight back over the ship's wake. Seaview Superior Accessible (SSA, 21–24 m²) cabins are larger, with more spacious bathrooms suitable for wheelchair users.
Mini Suites
Panoramic Center (ZMP, 20 m²): positioned mid-ship at the bow, with a front-facing, floor-to-ceiling window. Panoramic Corner (ZMC, 22 m²): at the bow, with wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows. Aft View Mini Suite (ZMA, 30 m²): a separate bedroom and lounge area with uninterrupted views from the aft corner. All sleep two.
Junior Suites
Seaview Junior Suite (ZJS, 27 m²): at the front of deck 7, with a swivel TV and a seating area that converts to a sofabed, sleeping up to four. Balcony Junior Suite (ZJV, 21 m²): floor-to-ceiling windows and a private balcony, with a sofabed for up to four. Balcony Junior Suite Accessible (ZJA, 21 m²): a private balcony and a bed positioned for the view, sleeping two.
Premium Suites
Lighthouse Suite (ZHA, 48 m²): Havila's most exclusive cabin, with a separate bedroom and a private balcony with a jacuzzi, for two. Balcony Suite (ZJB, 25–28 m²): a private balcony and floor-to-ceiling windows, for two to four.
Interior
Interior (INT, 10 m²): the most compact option, with one lower and one upper berth, for two. Interior Accessible (INA, 15 m²+): larger, with two lower and two upper berths and an accessible bathroom.
