Laugarvatn Fontana
Laugarvatn Fontana, which is only a 50 minute drive by car from Reykjavík, is a highlight of any wellness weekend in Iceland. A visit to the open air baths at Laugarvatn Fontana will also give you the opportunity to experience the ever changing Icelandic weather as the thermal baths can be enjoyed all year around. In fact, wintertime makes the visit to the thermal baths an even more memorable experience. It is a new facility with modern conveniences, however, it has been built upon an old historical spa facility that dates back to 1929.
It is easy to drive to Laugarvatn, which is located on road number 37 on route to Geysir and Gullfoss. A new road number 354 connects Laugarvatn to the Þingvellir National Park.
