Hotel Rival

Hotel Rival is a boutique hotel situated on Mariatorget in Stockholm. The hotel has been converted from the old Rival Cinema to a beautiful and stylish hotel with 99 rooms. It is wholly owned by Benny Anderson, one of the ABBA's. The idea behind the interior design has been to create a colourful and multi-facetted environment, stretching from the festive original interior of the cocktail bar to more contemporary design. Everyone should feel most welcome here!

The Standard Rooms offer a sleek, modern design and face the quiet courtyard, ideal for short stays. Compact yet fully equipped, they feature either a queen bed (160 cm) or twin beds (2 x 90 cm), with integrated USB chargers in the headboard. Guests can request their preferred bed setup when booking.

Overlooking Mariatorget, Rival’s Bistro serves a seasonal menu curated by Head Chef Robin Gesang-Gottowt, blending fresh ingredients with timeless classics. Open for dinner Tuesday to Saturday, the bistro also features a heated balcony—perfect for evening drinks or casual dining with a view. Guests can enjoy daily specials, dishes from Watson’s Bar, and a thoughtfully selected wine list. Watson’s Bar and the Tavern are open seven days a week for cocktails and all-day bites.
