Kysten offers a more refined dining experience, with dishes inspired by the ingredients, traditions and communities along Norway's coastline. The restaurant is one of the fine-dining options available on selected ships in the Coastal Express fleet, including MS Trollfjord, MS Midnatsol, MS Richard With, MS Nordlys, MS Kong Harald, MS Polarlys, MS Nordnorge and MS Nordkapp. Availability varies by ship.
Hurtigruten's Norway's Coastal Kitchen concept is built around fresh, local ingredients sourced directly from producers along the route. The result is food that reflects the changing landscape as you sail from Bergen towards the Arctic.
Seafood naturally features strongly, with ingredients such as cod, king crab and other local catches making an appearance alongside Norwegian meat, vegetables, dairy products, berries and baked goods.
The focus is on quality produce and the stories behind it rather than elaborate cruise-ship dining. Every meal is another way to connect with the places you are travelling through.
Dining on the Coastal Express
On the Hurtigruten Coastal Express, breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the ship's main restaurant, Torget. Full voyages include daily breakfast, lunch and dinner in Torget, along with tea and filter coffee.
The Coastal Express also offers the opportunity to upgrade your dining experience. On full voyages, guests can choose additional benefits including a choice of dining time and dinner in the fine-dining restaurant Kysten. Suite guests can also enjoy dinner at Kysten as part of their enhanced onboard experience.
