Mari Räsänen
CEO
FinnishOriginating from the frosty landscapes of Finland, I've journeyed through Denmark to Australia, loving the experiences and diverse cultures life has provided me so far.
As a leader, I truly believe in servant leadership, and I get great joy from uplifting those around me. I believe in the power of joy and laughter, and I am truly passionate about what I do, especially when I find something that aligns perfectly with my values, as 50 Degrees North has done.
My journey into the world of business began with law, numbers, and finance, but you'd be mistaken to place me into the box of traditional accountants and finance people. I am a bit of an anomaly in my field, with an extroverted spirit and a love for people and their stories, coupled with a deep affection for science and numbers. I enjoy unravelling the mysteries of the world and constantly learning new things to satisfy my bottomless curiosity.
I am currently steering 50 Degrees North as their newly appointed CEO, a position I've been trusted with after progressing through many versatile roles within the company over the years. I have loved each position, from sales to finance, and I feel like this company is truly my spiritual home.
Prior to 50 Degrees North, I've held a marketing position with Coca-Cola Finland, orchestrated finance operations in a European branch of a large South Korean electric motor manufacturer, served as an internal auditor and administrator at Tupperware's North European headquarters, and even delved into the IT world with Hewlett Packard.
I cherish my bizarre and unconventional journey through different industries, and I am forever grateful that it has led me to the amazing world of travel and tourism. Despite reaching the middle-age milestone, I feel as excited as a 20-year-old, eager to see what the world has to offer and where my winding path will take me, whether in my career or personal life.
