Porvoo Cathedral
Porvoo Cathedral is considered the city's most beloved sight and it dominates the landscape when arriving to Porvoo. The cathedral was built in the 15th century, although the oldest parts date from the 13th century.
If you're expecting gold encrusted and lavish like the big catholic cathedrals you will be disappointed. This cathedral is small and somewhat minimalist, but it is beautiful and in excellent condition.
The church has been destroyed in fires several times, the last time being in 2006 when an arsonist lit the roof on fire.
There is a great view from the hill.
