Day 1 - Arrive in Oslo

Welcome to Oslo, your gateway to Norway. Nestled at the inner reaches of the Oslo Fjord, this captivating capital blends over 1,000 years of history with a modern, outward-looking energy and a deep love of nature. Settle into your hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring at your own pace, whether that means wandering the waterfront, discovering the city's vibrant neighbourhoods, or simply soaking in the atmosphere of one of Europe's most liveable cities.

Day 2 - Oslo Walking Tour and train to Åndalsnes

This morning, step into the soul of Oslo on a carefully crafted three-hour walking tour, wandering from the grand Royal Palace to the striking Opera House, through artistic neighbourhoods and quiet backstreets. Led by a passionate local guide, you will uncover the traditions and everyday rhythms that make this city so unique, from Viking roots to modern Scandinavian design and a culture built around the outdoors.

Later, board the train northwest towards Åndalsnes, as the famous Raumabanen begins to unfold outside your window.

Day 3 - Ride the Golden Train and the Romsdalen Gondola for some of Norway’s most stunning landscapes

This morning, step aboard the Golden Train for a journey along the Rauma Railway, moving at a gentle pace through Romsdalen past the towering rock face of Trollveggen, the elegant Kylling Bridge, and the cascading Verma waterfalls. Your guides bring to life the dramatic story of the Second World War gold transport that gave this train its name, weaving together tales of those who lived, climbed, and fished among these peaks. In the afternoon, take Norway's longest skylift, the Romsdalen Gondola, over 700 metres above sea level for sweeping 360-degree views across the valley, with the option to hike, explore, or enjoy a meal at the mountain restaurant using local produce.

An audio guide, locally written and rich with the stories of fjord farms and communities only accessible by water, accompanies you throughout.
