Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive Kittilä and transfer to Nivunki Village with shaman ceremonial welcome

Arrive Kittilä and group transfer (approx. 45 mins) to Nivunki Village, located north of the Arctic Circle.

Nivunki Village is located in the middle of Finnish Lapland and is home to this new resort. Sit back and enjoy the open fire in the lobby on your arrival or relax in your private glass igloo. Each igloo has square footage: 30 m2, a double bed, bathroom with shower, bathrobes, minibar, coffee & tea maker and free wi-fi.

Depending on the schedule, start your adventure with a Lappish ceremony, a shaman based tradition in which you ask for a blessing and protection. For ages the sprites and elves have lived in the fells, forests and waters and helped the honest people of Lapland survive the harsh arctic conditions.

Anu Aikia is an original Lappish woman, healer, storyteller and shaman. We will meet Anu by the fire to hear compelling stories and tales of old Lapland and receive a blessing from the good sprites of Lapland.

Dinner at the hotel's restaurant tonight.

Day 4 - Historic Snowshoe Trek: Old mill expedition and Snowmobile Safari

Explore the wonder of nature on a snowshoe trek. This trip takes us back in time as we venture to Äkäsmylly, a historic mill surrounded by Lapland's wilderness. This ancient site holds a special place in the region's history, serving as a spot for fishing and a resting place for travellers throughout the ages. As we linger at historic Äkäsmylly and breathe in the pure air we're reminded of the connection between humanity and the natural world. During our adventure, we will take a break to savour flavours of Lapland.

This evening, you will enjoy your final excursion, an exciting snowmobile safari under the Arctic sky as we search for the Northern Lights. Fell Särkitunturi is far away from artificial lights and an ideal spot for Northern Light hunting. This tour is not just about the Northern Lights – it's about experiencing the pure essence of nature in all its forms. On the way we pause for a break in a kota, a traditional Lappish tepee. Nestled amidst the snow-covered landscape the kota offers a cozy break to enjoy local treats.

Rest of the day is yours to unwind and soak in the serene beauty of the Arctic wilderness. Relax in your cozy glass-roofed hut, where you can gaze at the snowy landscape or catch a glimpse of the dancing Northern Lights.
