If you don’t fancy the sub-zero temperatures associated with Northern Scandinavia in winter, consider an autumn tour. Enjoy the best of Finnish Lapland, staying in the lakeside retreat, located 230kms north of the Arctic Circle. This local resort offers a great range of early Northern Lights activities as well as comfortable Scandinavian style accommodation.
Enjoy peaceful afternoons at the lake, discovering the nature and wilds of Finland. You can pick as many berries and mushrooms as you can carry, the lake is full with tasty fish and the Jeris River is just a stone throw away.

Local transfers
Northern Lights are only visible between mid September - April.
Ask us about an upgrade to the Arctic Firefox Lodge with private sauna and sleeping area with unobstructed sky views. Or an upgrade to a log cabin.
From Kittilä airport it is only a 45 minute transfer to your hotel where you will be welcomed and receive information on the days to come. After settling in to your accommodation, you can enjoy your dinner in the restaurant. All food is prepared from local and organic ingredients.
After breakfast we transfer to the local reindeer farm where we will learn about the year of the reindeer, visit the old barn and museum, meet and feed the reindeer and try out hand at lasso throwing. Next we move on to the husky farm for a short tour and a chance to meet our eager teams of dogs. Stop for a picnic lunch here.
The rest of the afternoon is free to relax, hire a fatbike, canoe or a rowing boat and enjoy the great outdoors.
In the evening you will get to know the secrets of the Northern Lights. Your guide will tell you of the appearance and the birth of the Northern Lights. After an informative presentation, you will head out and make a campfire. While making pancakes on the campfire, you’ll find yourself on the perfect spot to admire the Northern Lights.
Dinner in the restaurant and overnight in cozy hotel room.
After breakfast, you will head out for a brisky hike in the National Park. Picnic lunch will be enjoyed on the way.
This evening we will experience the Arctic Sauna World for a Finnish sauna experience with lake swimming for those who wish. This is our last chance to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights so keep an eye out over the lake and after dinner!
After breakfast transfer to Kittilä airport.
