Fyrvika is our beautiful, cozy small cabin on the edge of the Arctic Ocean, high up in Northern Norway. It is our peaceful sanctuary which we hope to share with you one day.
Fyrvika is just a short walk from the majestic Tranøy Fyr (lighthouse). The location is convenient for those coming from Bodø, Harstad, Narvik or Lofoten. This is the perfect spot to relax, fish or to enjoy the many outdoor possibilities the area has on offer.
The cabin is set in beautiful surroundings on a 54 acre property by the "Vestfjord". The views across the fjord to the Lofoten "wall" are spectacular. You will have 24-hours of sun in summer during the midnight sun period, and Northern Lights in autumn and winter.
Location - Hamarøy, Nordland, Norway:
The village of Tranøy is situated approx. 2.5km away, and within walking distance. Tranøy has a local pub in an old boat, galleries and some other points of interest. There is a small local shop to buy daily items. You can do a sculpture walk around the town and enjoy a glass of champagne and high tea at the gallery.
The nearest supermarket is in Oppeid approx. 15km away towards the main road. In Oppeid you will also find the Hamsun Centre, schools, a hardware store and a lovely summer cafe.
There are numerous of great walking tracks on Hamarøy, including the walk around Hamarøyskaftet. For active travellers, we recommend a hike up to the peak, Hamnesfjellet, 880 metres up from sea level with an incredible view over to the Lofoten Islands on a clear day.
Another excursion to include in your stay is a visit to the new Arctic Salmon Centre in Skutvik. Join a rib boat tour out to the Salmon farms and hear about the 1.2 million salmon that are farmed around this small Norwegian village.
The best way to get around is by your own car, as public transport is limited. We can arrange car hire for you - this location suits a visit in Lofoten as well. Harstad/Narvik Airport, Evenes is the closest one to Fyrvika, approximately 2 hours drive away with a ferry.

The cabin is comfortably decked out with cozy furniture. It has electricity, Wi-Fi, and running water. The water is supplied through a domestic desalination plant in the small shed down by the waters edge. It has 2 bedrooms (sleeps four) and is perfect for remote working.
Highlights of the seasons:
Positioned high above the Arctic Circle, Fyrvika is perfectly located to experience the Northern Lights. It can be combined with a visit to Tromsø, Bodø or the Lofoten Archipelago. You can also come up the Norwegian Coast on a Coastal Voyage and enjoy a leisurely, private stay at this cabin.
In summer, you can go hiking, fishing from the rocks and biking in the 24-hour sunlight and in autumn, bring out the baskets for blueberry, cloudberry and wild mushroom picking. On the long summer evenings, there is local music and dinner served at the lighthouse, just a 5 minute walk away.
