Enjoy an authentic Christmas experience with your family in Finland. We all love the thrill of showing our kids the best that life can be and this is one tradition we can ham it up for them. A landscape of snow, Finnish Christmas traditions and cuisine combined with Santa and his elves will set their imagination soaring.
We provide snow, great family friendly accommodation, fun activities and simple pleasures such as singing around a tree, freshly baked biscuits and promenading in the forest looking for Christmas trees, you just need to provide the children and your time.
This trip runs on specific dates and books up early. The first day is the 22nd December and the last day is the 28th December 2013.

New Year's Eve is celebrated in Scandinavia with massive firework shows and gala dinners. In particular, the capital cities of Oslo, Reykjavik, Helsinki and Stockholm put on great shows that are scattered across the town. You will be welcomed by Santa’s Elves at Kajaani airport. Transfer to Hotel Kalevala. Welcome dinner.

This morning is free for outdoor activities: tobogganing, kick-sledding, making snow angels & visiting our reindeers. After lunch, help the elves to bake Santa's favourite treat, gingerbread cookies. When the cookies are ready, it's time to take some to the main man of Christmas - that's if you can find him! Elves will help you on your quest to find the red-suited, long-bearded Santa. In the evening enjoy sauna with jacuzzi and have dinner in the restaurant.

After breakfast we'll make a magical journey by foot and snowshoes across the snowy landscape and bring the Christmas tree inside the restaurant. Big duty for children is to decorate it. After traditional Christmas rice-porridge and lunch at the hotel, visit the church yard of Kuhmo. Everyone can light a candle for their loved ones far away. In Finland Santa Claus comes traditionally on Christmas Eve. In the evening enjoy Christmas Eve with traditional buffet table and get-together by the fireplace. Bus transfer to Christmas night church.

Christmas Day is yours to spend at your pleasure. Enjoy dinner in the restaurant. In the evening we will make a short journey outside to see the stars, moon, northern lights. We'll walk along the frozen lake to Harakkasaari Island and enjoy traditional campfire evening including hot juice, sausages, listening the nature by night and darkness.

After breakfast we will have traditional "Boxing Day" by the lake; enjoy the taste of short reindeer sledge tour, horse sleigh drive, husky sleigh tour and snowmobile drive. Dinner with folklore program.
